With less than four months until our second annual Old Town Street Festival, we are busy planning and scoping out some amazing vendors, entertainers, wine, and food. Our committee had their first meeting of the new year last week and have already predicted it to exceed their expectations.
In order to put on such an exciting event, there is a lot that goes into selecting the best of the best in Central Texas. Vendor applications are reviewed and voted on by the committee based on a first come, first served basis. They also take into account the visual appeal of the applicant’s booth and the cohesiveness of the setup – which is why pictures are so important to send in with applications! We love our vendors to have originality, passion and pride in what they do whether it’s arts, crafts or food!
Music is another area that is vital to making it a great festival. The committee keeps the public opinion in mind, monitoring Facebook posts, reading comments and suggestions, and looking at bands in the area that are gaining popularity. This year, we really wanted to focus on promoting local music and the official lineup is posted on the festival website.
We plan to have five local wineries and four local breweries this year. It is a great opportunity for these facilities to showcase their quality wine and beer to people from far and wide. A representative from each winery or brewery will promote and educate participants about their product and it is an all around awesome opportunity for both businesses and guests.
